ISIS cranks, a special type of splined crank, have become the standard for unicycle crank arms for their strength and reliability. ISIS drives feature construction that is less likely to deform under pressure than square taper cranks and provides more surface area between the crank spindle-hub interface for a better, more secure fit. As long as you make sure to always install them in the proper manner and on the proper side of the unicycle, they should hold up for many years.
